“Becoming Rainbow” is inspired by Magic Moments personal journey of self-discovery, and then finding and following his dreams. The song is dedicated to everyone working for social justice and human rights and those protecting the environment including Indigenous Communities around the world like the Water Protectors at Standing Rock. We are all in a process of growing, learning, and becoming our truest selves, and “Becoming Rainbow” is a personal anthem for this journey.

Musically the song builds like a driving dance anthem, and quickly transcends expectations for the genre by teasing and layering elements in such a way as to keep the focus on the spaces between the beats and notes. Lyrically, the song is much more sparse than Magic Moments recent releases, which is purposefully concise with the intention of giving the listener a chance to add their own story. As a composition in whole the work washes over you like a wave providing a glimpse at the ride of your life to come.

The 2D Art and 3D Virtual Reality content were created in collaboration with New Dehli based visual artist Archan Nair and California based effects house TNG Visual Effects (Deadpool, Girl With A Dragon Tattoo). TNG scanned Magic Moments in 3D and then Archan used those digital files as the base for his creations. Known for his brilliant and visionary work, it was a tremendous honor to work with Archan. Archan recently expanded his creative skills by adopting new Virtual Reality tools including HTC’s Vive and Google’s Tilt Brush. The music video is based on the live capture of his creative process in Virtual Reality using these tools, which was then edited by Magic Moments into the final visual presentation.

With “Becoming Rainbow,” Magic Moments continues to create a rich visual accompaniment to every piece of music he releases, exploring the latest technologies and methods of creation and engaging in collaborations that span the entire planet. Fans and supporters helped make this project’s scope possible via Magic Moments first attempt at a fan-funded music release. The successful campaign speaks to the dialogue created in both the process of making and sharing this work and as a testament to our collective ability to overcome limitations in space and time; in this case the physical space between the collaborating artists living in different continents and the time delay in which listeners who are more deeply engaged will be some of the first to see and experience the project leading up to its full release.
